Family Support Workers

We are currently seeking highly motivated Family Support Workers to join our team in Galway. Contract Type: This is Return of hour contract (15 to 30hrs per week)
Salary Scale: FSW pay scale €34,382 (16.95 per hour) - €41,607 (20.51 per hour) 7points
Overview of the Post:
This role will involve working across the Family Support Department including The Rainbow under 6 service and Connect Afterschool Service. The Family Support Worker will work as part of a team to provide practical, personal and social support to the children who avail the services.

The successful candidate will have
Essential Criteria:
· QQI Level 5 major award in childcare or equivalent (we will consider applicants working
towards full major childcare qualification or equivalent)
· Have experience working with children/teens
· Full driving license with two years driving experience
· Have experience of working with children with physical disabilities
· Have experience providing personal care to individuals
· Demonstrates excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
· Demonstrates good awareness of health and safety issues
Desirable Criteria:
· Have experience of working with children in community/non-centred based and centre based
setting as Lone Worker and as part of a team
· Have experience of working with children with physical disabilities
· Have at least one year’s experience assisting individuals with disabilities in a Health Care
setting
