The Role:
The Asset Operations function forms the cornerstone of service delivery to customers, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards as well as managing the majority of operational expenditure. The Asset Operations function has responsibility for operational and maintenance strategy, policies, planning and standard operating procedures for Water and Wastewater operations both nationally and regionally, ensuring that value for money and customer service is delivered.
The Operations Support Team has responsibility for providing and managing effective business infrastructure and processes at a national level to support operational activities at site level. .
The Workflow Functional Area is responsible for the management and monitoring of all outdoor work through the full work order lifecycle from planning to closure. This includes overseeing the initiation, dispatch and progression of work orders, processing of service requests, allocating adequate resources, identification of bundling opportunities, identification of work pre-requisites, creation of work orders to be progressed and dispatched to the field, the management of the logistics and stores to enable effective and efficient inventory control, Outage notification & processing and complaint resolution.
The Workflow support services team enable the broader team to work effectively and efficiently. The Field Force Training Coordinator reports to the Field Force Training Supervisor. This role is responsible for delivering the agreed field force training strategy. Full duties and responsibilities are outlined below.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Input into the field force training strategy that supports the desired UÉ ways of working and culture for field management in UÉ.
- Deliver successful learning programs to deliver the required capability and embed new ways of working in the field and ensure that the benefits associated with the changed ways of working are realised e.g. full use of hand held devices.
- Identify further development opportunities and training needs of the field force based on training needs analysis or through changes strategies and projects that impact on the ways of operating in the field.
- Report on the training delivered and assess the progress of the implementation of the training strategy.
- Collaborate with the wider business to develop and create training materials.
- Continue to improve training effectiveness by identifying adjustments or improvements to the current programs or suggesting new approaches and techniques when needed.
- Provide HHU set up advice and act as point of contact for assisting with resolution of technical issues.
- Participate in new or ad-hoc development projects for the field force in order to increase work efficiency.
- Support the development and deliverance of back office training when required.
- Support the development of digital tools, align with the needs of the field force, and train the field force on their utilisation in order to get the most out of it.
- Identify risks and issues related to work management activities and escalate through appropriate channels.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business;
- Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
- Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
- Strong technical experience using work management systems (e.g. Maximo & work management handheld devices)
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience.
- Full, clean, class B Irish driving licence. A clean driving licence is defined as meaning that the applicant has not been convicted of an offence under the Road Traffic Acts (other than an offence for which the penalty is the imposition of penalty points).
- Working knowledge of the standards, processes and procedures relevant to work management processes.
- Proactive, with ability to work on own initiative and with others to ensure success in the performance of a team.
- Proven effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and remain focused.
- We work better together - proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey messages in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong Computer skills with a proficient working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to set up ongoing processes and procedures to collect and review information.
- Flexible with regard to working in a changing environment and the ability to adjust to new work structures, processes and requirements as necessary.
- We aim high proactively identifying new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skills on the job.
- Striving for quality and ensuring consistent high standards of work.
