Role Profile

We are currently recruiting a Finance Assistant on a temporary basis, to support a broad range of operational, financial and administrative processes within the Grain Centre of Excellence. The Grain CoE manages key elements of the farmer payment cycle and acts as an important service provider across deductions administration, supplier master data maintenance, monthly returns, payment processing and volume analytics. This role requires a highly organised and detail-focused individual who can work accurately with financial data, engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and support continuous improvement across core processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end farmer payment cycle, ensuring activities are completed accurately, on time and in line with agreed controls
  • Administer deductions on behalf of farmers and ensure transfers are processed
  • Maintain accurate supplier master data and ensure changes are reviewed, validated and processed in line with internal procedures
  • Complete monthly returns and provide timely reporting to support operational and financial decision-making
  • Prepare and analyse volume-related information, identifying trends, variances and areas requiring follow-up
  • Support accounts payable processes, including reconciliations, issue resolution and payment-related queries
  • Liaise with internal teams, farmers, suppliers and service providers to resolve queries and ensure a high-quality service experience
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, helping to strengthen controls, improve efficiency and enhance data accuracy
  • Maintain clear records and support audit, compliance and reporting requirements as required

Key requirements

  • Experience in accounts payable, finance administration, supplier payments or a similar finance operations environment
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems and ERP platforms
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience maintaining master data and working with high-volume, detail-sensitive financial information
  • Audit, compliance or controls experience desirable
  • Previous experience in a shared service, centre of excellence, agribusiness, co-operative or supplier-facing environment advantageous
