Role Overview

As Finance Director of a multifunction GES business, you will act as the strategic financial leader for a global, multifunctional Glanbia Enterprise Solutions (GES) organization. You will be accountable for shaping in conjunction with the GES leadership team the financial performance of GES as a business, overseeing the finances of multiple service lines (e.g. IT, HR, Finance and other centralized functions) and driving value creation through business partnership, operational excellence, investment, cost efficiency and innovation largely through digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Serve as the Finance leader for the GES business, shaping the financial performance of GES as a business from a P&L perspective.
  • Support the strategy process for GES as a business assuring alignment with business objectives across all business segments.
  • Develop and execute, in conjunction with the GES leadership team, financial strategies that support GES growth, scalability and service excellence.
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and investment prioritization across all GES functions with a focus on supporting innovation and digital transformation.
  • Define and monitor commercial models, including chargebacks, pricing and benchmarking with a focus on value and simplification aligned with Group Tax and Group Finance.

Performance Management & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure the operating model of GES Finance is optimized for accounting, FP&A and BP support to the GES Leadership Team and the HRLT.
  • Responsibility for the GES Finance Team with a focus on coaching and development of the team
  • Establish and track KPIs across all GES functions to ensure cost-effectiveness in conjunction with GES Leadership.
  • Drive productivity, cost optimization and digital transformation initiatives across GES Finance.
  • Support the GES leadership team and Procurement in commercial negotiation with 3rd party vendors on key contracts.
  • Lead financial governance, risk management and compliance across GES global operations. 

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with functional leaders (e.g. VP Digital IT, VP IT Ops, CHRO, CFO, CPO and Group Finance) to align financial goals with service delivery.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure GES services meet evolving enterprise needs.
  • Develop financial models to support business cases for Digital transformation across the business.
  • Present financial insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

Transformation & Innovation

  • Lead financial aspects of GES transformation programs, including automation, AI, and global delivery models. Ensure processes are in place to track business case value realization committed across multiple change programs.
  • Leverage external partners (BPOs, MSPs and consultancies) to transform the cost structure of the GES business to support investment and growth at the front end of the GES business.
  • Support the evolution of GES into a value-generating business partner, not just a cost center.
  • Support a GES business that is rapid scaling, supporting agile product development cycles, and enabling digital-first service delivery models.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making and advanced analytics.

The skills you will bring to the team

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) & a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership in multifunction GES or shared services.
  • Proven track record in managing complex P&Ls, driving transformation, and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of global service delivery models, financial operations, and digital enablers.
  • Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience with ERP and analytics platforms (e.g., SAP 4/Hana, SAC etc).
