Finance Manager

Finance Manager (Band 7 – Agenda for Change Pay scale) Full Time (37.5 Hours Per Week) Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to join Foyle Hospice.

This is a rewarding and varied role that is responsible for managing and co-ordinating the smooth running of the finance department, ensuring all processes and procedures are streamlined, efficient and that important deadlines are achieved.

The Role

The Finance Manager will support and implement the effective running of the Finance Department, in order to provide accurate and timely financial and management information, specifically in relation to Purchase Ledger, Pay Roll, Budgeting, Management Accounts and Statutory Financial Statements, in accordance with the requirements of the organisation.

The Organisation

Since 1985, Foyle Hospice has provided ongoing compassionate palliative care services to individuals with cancer and other life limiting illnesses, their families and loved ones through the delivery of high quality, specialist, multi-professional, holistic support in the hospice 9-bedded inpatient unit and in their own homes across the whole of the Western Health and Social Care Trust area.

‘Together We Care’ - Foyle Hospice services are delivered by approximately 130 dedicated employees and supported by a team of over 350 valued volunteers.

Essential Criteria

A professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CiPFA) plus three years post qualification experience in the following areas:

Strategic financial planning;

Technical experience around budgeting and forecasting;

Budgeting and financial reporting including management accounts and variance analysis;

Preparation of statutory financial statements for audit purposes;

Operating/overseeing payroll

On occasions, the Postholder will be expected to deputise in the absence of the Human Resources and Administrative Services Manager.

They will also be directly responsible for the management of the Finance Team.
