Áiseanna Tacaíochta CLG (ÁT) is seeking a full time Finance Officer to join its team. 

ÁT is a not-for-profit organisation that provides leadership and support to empower people (Members) with disabilities to live with the independence, choice and freedom they are entitled to. We advocate on behalf of persons with a disability.

The role

The appointee will report to Finance Manager and shall be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of financial data preparation and inputs which will be relied on for production of financial information and reports to be used in the decision-making process by Managers.

Appointee shall ensure accounting data and reports are produced in accordance with best practice. Key to the role is the ongoing development, promotion and delivery of Finance Support Services for the organisation. Reporting will be monthly, quarterly and / or annual activities to management and statutory bodies and funders, in line with contractual requirements.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of the annual corporate and members’ budgets in collaboration with the Finance Manager.
  • Monitor and control budget lines, specifically addressing budget variances and calling any issues to the attention of the Finance Manager.
  • Manage monthly invoicing, receivables and payables control accounts, payroll analysis, recharges, and supporting records to ensure positive cash flows and that all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining a digital record of all financial transactions, documents, and supplier Information using Sage Accounts and MS Excel.
  • Compiling financial data to prepare monthly revenue and expense reports, ensuring that members’ accounts are accurate and up to date.
  • Liaising with Finance Manager and Member Relations Team in relation financial and members’ compliance respectively
  • Attendance at Finance and Risk Committee meetings as required
  • Keep up to date with current and emerging accounting practices i.e., Charity Law, SORP
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Finance Manager.

Essential - Experience and Knowledge

  • ACA/ACCA/CPA, qualified or part qualified to Professional level, pursuing to completion
  • At least 2 years previous experience in a finance role
  • Proficiency in Sage accounting package
  • Excellent IT skills with MS Office, particularly Excel

 Citizenship Requirement:

Candidates should note that eligibility to compete is open to citizens of the European Economic Area (EEA) or to non-EEA nationals with an in-date Immigration permission endorsed with a Stamp 4. The EEA consists of the Member States of the European Union along with Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, and Norway. Swiss citizens under EU agreements may also apply.

Salary

A competitive salary will be offered and will be based on market rates. Opportunity exists for promotion to successful applicant.

Exam/Study Leave

If the successful candidate is part qualified, leave will be granted for study and exam sittings to complete the qualification.

 Start Date

The successful candidate must be able to start immediately or at a date agreeable to ÁT. 

Job Location

The position will be based in ÁT’s head office in North Dublin.
