JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Financial Accountant
Job Duration: Full-time Permanent Position
Job Location: The position offered is based in Ennis, Co. Clare and will from time to time, require some travel to other Clarecare locations. This position is an on-site role. Remote/Hybrid working does not apply.
Reporting to: Head of Finance.
Days/Hours of Work: This is a full-time permanent role (subject to successful completion of 6-month probation).
Hours 9.30am to 5.00pm with 30 mins lunch break over 5 work days per week (Monday to Friday inclusive). Flexibility and willingness to work outside of normal hours of work on occasion may be required.
Annual Leave: 26 days annual leave per full leave year (Jan-Dec).
Remuneration: Salary range from €45,000 to €50,000 gross per annum commensurate with relevant experience.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
• Preparation of monthly financial reporting and analysis.
• Preparation of annual financial statements.
• Transition of financial statements to Statement Of Recommended Practice (SORP).
• Assisting with the maintenance of a schedule of restricted/unrestricted/designated/deferred income.
• Support the internal and external audit process.
• Preparation of annual budgets and monthly variance analysis.
• Preparation of statutory annual returns to the Charities Regulatory Authority (CRA).
• Preparation of Funder quarterly and annual compliance returns.
• Assist with Funder service level agreements.
• Prepare monthly Payroll upload CSV file from our CRM system to capture hours worked, Bank holidays, Holidays, Training, Travel etc. to be uploaded to the payroll system.
• Production of monthly invoices on a timely basis to maintain a steady and predictable cash flow.
• Remittance reconciliation and follow up with relevant parties on aged receivables.
• VAT Compensation Scheme.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience & Skills:
• Qualified Accountant, ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent is essential.
• Minimum of 3+ years (post-qualification) experience with preferably some experience of working within the charity, social enterprise or public sector.
• Technical knowledge in the areas of financial accounting and reporting, management accounting and financia planning, general business and information technology to exploit effective and efficient ways of delivering results.
• An understanding of SORP and other voluntary sector legal requirements.
• Experienced in management and reporting of large operational budgets (up to €10m) across various services.
• Ability to prepare, present, and clearly explain financial reports.
• Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate quantitative and qualitative data effectively.
• Excellent MS Office skills including well developed knowledge & experience of accounting, auditing and financial systems.
• Ability to prioritise multiple competing demands.
• Can do attitude, self-motivated and team player.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances – solutions focussed.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• The successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment fit to work medical assessment.
