Financial Accountant

Shaws Department Stores have an exciting new vacancy for a Financial Accountant based in our Support Office which is centrally located in Portlaoise.

This is a fixed term contract until end of April 2026.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reports to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

· Preparation of monthly management accounts

· Preparation of Trial Balance for Audit

· Control of monthly store reporting on cash reconciliation and bank reconciliation

· Liaison with Auditors and preparation of statutory accounts

· Completion of VAT and PAYE Returns

· Labour cost analysis & reporting

· Act as support to Central Administration functions

Skills & Experience Required:

· Previous experience of accounts preparation and the preparation of Trial Balance for Audit purposes

· Proficient in Excel

· Strong attention to detail with an analytical mindset

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday.
