What is the Role:
Capital Markets is an exciting, growth orientated and diversified business delivering customer focused innovative solutions and specialised products in private and public markets to the Bank’s larger customers. The Capital Markets Governance team, is part of Capital Markets Insights & Enablement and provides support to the Capital Markets business areas: Corporate Banking, Business Banking, Private Banking, Real Estate Finance, Commercial Finance, Syndicated & International Finance and Financial Solutions Group.
The Capital Markets Governance team drives consistent risk management practices to enable compliance with the letter and spirit of AIB policies and to comply with all relevant regulations. It is a dynamic and professional team which engages with stakeholders across the bank.
Key activities for the team include:
- Serve as the central advisory contact for Operational Risk, Conduct, and Compliance matters, collaborating with stakeholders across the bank
- Provide regulatory support in key areas such as Related Party Transactions, Shadow Banking, and Fitness and Probity to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Run key governance fora for Capital Markets (Governance & Assurance Forum, CM Conduct Forum and CM Risk & Capital Forum)
- Support the Capital Markets Regulatory and Governance Change initiatives
- Support Managing Director of Capital Markets in bi-annual Level 1 RCA Review & Challenge sessions and ExCo attestations
- Report and manage Non- credit RAS metrics (People, Operational Risk, Compliance & Conduct)
Key accountabilities;
- Taking responsibility for delivering high quality 1LOD risk reports to senior management.
- Build and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in Capital Markets and across AIB.
- Acting as secretariat and support chair of key governance fora for Capital Markets (CM Governance & Assurance Forum, CM Conduct Forum & CM Risk & Capital Forum)
- Support regulatory and compliance project engagement for Capital Markets
- Support the delivery of Capital Markets conduct work programme and actions
- Representing Capital Markets on relevant working group, e.g. operational risk, compliance and conduct and project working groups.
What you Will Bring ;
- Minimum 3 years experience in a risk management discipline in a Financial Services environment (e.g. Operational Risk, Compliance, Credit Risk, Internal Audit).
- Proven track record of accurately compiling reports and information supporting senior management team members.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative with strong attention to detail, completing tasks to a very high degree of accuracy.
- Experience in implementation of policy and / or regulatory requirements into business processes and / or procedures would be desirable
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. QFA, ACCA, CIMA etc.) or qualification in progress would be desirable
