Forklift Trainer

As a result of our expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic field-based Forklift Trainer.

About the Role:

You will carry out formal training for forklifts, powered pallet trucks, racking inspections and banksman procedures. This role will involve significant travel across the Scotland and Ireland, so we are seeking candidates based in the North of England, Scotland and Ireland.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver classroom and hands-on forklift training sessions for store-based colleagues
• Evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Certify forklift operators and maintain accurate training records.
• Conduct refresher courses and re-certification as required.
• Ensure all training aligns with HSE regulations and company safety policies
• Perform safety audits and assessments of forklift operations.
• Stay current with industry regulations, best practices, and equipment updates.
• Collaborate with store and head office teams to identify training needs.

Person Specification:

• Existing instructor licence is desirable but training can be funded for the right candidate.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and forklift operation standards.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess trainee performance and adapt training methods accordingly.
• Full driving licence and car ownership is essential.
