The Role:

The primary purpose of the Regional Clinical Director role is to lead the Clinical Function across the full continuum of care, encompassing hospital and community-based and public health services within the Health Region, including those provided by Section 38 organisations. The General Manager will support the Regional Clinical Director to ensure the Office of the Regional Clinical Director effectively delivers the organisation’s agenda.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of the services which they have been assigned to.

The post holder will play a key role in contributing to both the strategic development and operational implementation of the HSE’s National Service Plan in relation to the delivery of the Office of the Regional Clinical Directors Office within the assigned area of responsibility.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting line management in the development and execution of appropriate policies/strategies in line with national objectives.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the most effective use of the resources available for the service they are responsible for.

1. Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.

(a)

• Significant health sector management experience which should include budget planning, financial management and staff management.
• A track record of delivering significant change in a complex, multi stakeholder environment, as relevant to this role.
• Experience of leading, supporting and motivating a team.
• A track record of developing and implementing plans at a strategic and operational level.
• Have demonstrated capacity to achieve results through multi-disciplinary and cross sectoral working.
• Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Other Requirements Specific to the post

· Access to appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role.

· A flexible approach to working hours is required in order to ensure deadlines are met.
