General Manager, Quality & Patient Safety
Purpose of the Role:
The General Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of services within CHI’s Quality and Patient Safety Directorate, through effective planning, control, monitoring, review and delivering on core programmes of work in quality, safety and risk management.
This includes the implementation of the CHI’s Quality & Patient Safety Strategy and Framework, clinical effectiveness, clinical audit, service user involvement; risk management, patient feedback,incident management, open disclosure, patient safety and service improvement. The post holder will coordinate the Quality and Patient Safety Agenda and be accountable to the Director of Quality & Patient Safety for performance with internal and external compliance requirements. The General Manager will also fulfil a lead role over special projects delegated by the Director of QPS.
Essential Criteria:
An academic award in Risk Management or Quality in Healthcare at level 6 (or
higher) on the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) framework or equivalent
OR
A professional qualification in a health-related area
AND
1. Significant health sector management experience relevant to this role
2. Experience of delivering significant change in a complex multi stakeholder environment, as relevant to this role.
3. Experience delivering, leading and managing a team.
4. Experience of managing and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to achieve objectives.
5. Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
6. Have demonstrated capacity to achieve results through multidisciplinary and cross sectoral working
7. Experience of budget planning, financial management and resource management processes
