General Operative

THIS IS A PART-TIME ROLE PRIMARILY INVOLVING WEEK-END WORK. 

FIXED TERM - 12 MONTH CONTRACT. 

Reporting to the Production Manager and based in Lombardstown, Mallow, Co. Cork, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assisting the production and maintenance staff in line with business requirements.
• Engage with zero harm safety culture and operate a safety first mindset while carrying out duties.
• Active participation and meaningful engagement in continuous improvement activities and meetings including 6S implementation and auditing, work groups etc.
• Operate safety permits controls i.e. isolation, hotwork, confined space and heights in accordance with Zero harm initiative
• Accurate checks of stock levels.
• General hygiene and cleaning duties.
• Adherence to Quality and safety standards on site
• Any other adhoc duties as requested.

Candidates for this position should have:

• Ability to work well and contribute in a cross functional and changing environment.
• Forklift / Loader driving and or yard/ warehousing experience is desirable.
• Relevant experience in a food manufacturing/Milling facility is essential.
• Proficient IT literacy skills. Working knowledge of control based systems.
• Strong customer focus, be well organised and efficient.
• Strong attention to detail and concern for standards with a keen results orientation.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work in teams and to relate to colleagues and managers alike.
• Self-motivated individual who will be flexible when the occasion demands.
• Show resilience and be capable of dealing with pressurised situations.
