General Operative

We are looking for people to join us in Kingate Foods where you will be part of a multi-cultural, diverse team. You will be given the opportunity to learn and expand your knowledge of the food industry as well as being given the chance to grow your career internally.

What to expect in the job?

  • The role will involve:
  • Packaging of fresh food produce including meat.
  • Working in a chilled environment.
  • Have the ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Using machinery only when trained to do so.
  • Part-time work in Quality Control and Reporting to the site Technical Manager.
  • Other duties will be part of the role from time to time – this will be specified by your direct Line Supervisor

Shifts: 08:00-16:30 Monday to Friday. May need to cover other QCs shifts occasionally (05:30-14:00 & 09:30-18:00) and every 3 weeks will work Tuesday to Saturday.

Requirements
  • Previous food production experience highly beneficial but not essential
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment beneficial but not essential
  • Each candidate must be of good character, hardworking and self-driven
  • Be able to use your own initiative
  • Be Flexible with working hours
  • Be energetic and be prepared to work within a team
  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Auditor training/qualification an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn and assist with additional tasks as needed.
  • Safety-conscious mindset and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Problem solving.
  • Previous experience in quality control beneficial but not essential.
  • HACCP training beneficial but not essential.
