About the role

We are currently seeking a We have a great opportunity for a General Operative to join our Kerry Team in Carrigaline, Co. Cork, on a full-time permanent basis.

This is a hands-on role focused mainly on production activities. It would suit someone with previous manufacturing experience who is technically minded, interested in continuous improvement, and willing to be cross-trained in other departments. The initial working pattern is 12-hour shifts, rotating between days and nights from 7 to 7, although this may change depending on business needs.

Where will you work?

Our Kerry site in Carrigaline specialises in the production and distribution of enzymes and brewing ingredients for a global market. Located in a quiet, green area, the site is conveniently near a bus station, making it just a 30-minute journey from Cork city. The onsite parking is available.

What will you do?

Your responsibilities as a General Operative will include

  • Actively engaging in relevant training plans to ensure target outcomes are achieved.
  • Ensuring all operations are carried out as per procedures.
  • Complying with all Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Maintaining the production areas in a clean and organised manner.
  • Developing a working knowledge and understanding of relevant plant equipment, pipe runs, services, etc.
  • Engaging in cross-training and being flexible to work in other departments if required.
  • Ensuring all appropriate documentation is completed in a neat and timely manner.
  • Adopting a proactive approach in achieving site, departmental, and individual targets.
  • Ensuring safe and efficient use of forklift trucks.
  • Continuously improving in day-to-day duties.
What do you need to be successful?
  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification is required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is desirable, ideally within a fermentation-related role.
  • Forklift truck experience and a valid counterbalance forklift certificate are desirable.
  • Good numeracy skills and clear communication skills in fluent English.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems effectively.
  • A proactive and motivated approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Computer literacy, including experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP.
