Contract Type: The post is temporary, on a Public Only Consultant Contract 2023, with a commitment of 37 hours to Galway University Hospital

Professional Qualification and/ or Experience Required: Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of General Surgery.

Post Details: Galway University Hospital is a level 4 hospital which offers exciting training, subspecialty and research opportunities with the University of Galway. This post will provide General Surgery cover in a busy University teaching hospital in the West of Ireland.

Referees: The names and addresses of three referees must be submitted with your application, two of whom should be from recent appointments.The Hospital may also refer to present and former employers for reference purposes without further notification to the applicant. Please be assured that we will only collect the details and contact referees should you come under consideration after the final interview stage.

Thesis Clarification: If a thesis has been submitted but not granted, the applicant should clarify the status of the thesis in their Curriculum Vitae.

Expenses: Galway University Hospital will not be liable for travelling or other expenses incurred by applicants who may be required to attend for interview(s).

Amendments to the Curriculum Vitae: Amendments/ addendums to Curriculum Vitae are not accepted once the Short listing meeting has taken place. Addendums are not accepted at Interview. Short-listed candidates will be invited to Interview to update the Selection Committee on any changes to Curriculum Vitae since submission.
