GIS BIM Coordinator

The BIM/GIS Coordinator will be responsible for the review of information prepared by designers and contractors. The successful candidate will assist the BIM Manager & senior GIS analyst focussing on the quality and consistency of the information submitted while ensuring that deliverables are continuously transformed from projects handover into master records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and report on the quality of digital information including ESRI Shape files, 2D/3D CAD files, 3D models and asset registers in accordance with daa project information standard.
  • Support designers in the validation of as-built design/construction information
  • Support the BIM Manager in establishing the digital information requirements for key stakeholders including Asset Management, Operations, Designers, Contractors, Regulatory Bodies
  • Support the BIM Coordinator in establishing processes for the integration of project information into master records in an auditable and efficient manner.
  • Assist the Geospatial Information Coordinator in extracting master record information for new projects.
  • Facilitate workshops and training where required to ensure that digital information is meeting requirements.
  • Utilise software systems and standards where possible to automate all processes in the transformation of digital information.
  • Assist the GIS Senior Analyst in the production of information that is suitable for incorporation into GIS mapping.
  • Support the BIM Manager in improving the information standards and project requirements by providing feedback and lessons learned.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of CAD/Revit/GIS standard templates and libraries.
  • Assist with the management of the master records.
  • Attend and report at weekly digital team meetings.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Third level qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC) OR strong trades background coupled with a BIM/GIS qualification
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience working in the AEC industry
  • Minimum of 1+ years within a BIM/GIS function
  • Excellent working knowledge of CAD/BIM/GIS Software
  • Good knowledge of at least one industry leading Common Data Environment (CDE)
  • Knowledge of ISO 19650 BIM Standards
  • Good knowledge of Data Analysis systems
  • Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Civil3D
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Knowledge of ESRI – Geographical Information Systems
  • Knowledge of Power BI or similar data driven systems
  • Knowledge of programming / scripting to support Data Analysis
  • Experience of large infrastructure projects, ideally in aviation or transport
  • Knowledge of surveying methods, data acquisition, data validation, data quality assurance and data quality control
  • Able to collaborate and work independently and as part of a multidiscipline and diverse team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience of adopting to change to working processes and adoption of new technologies.
  • Excellent time management skills and be able to work under pressure when required to achieve deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal (English) communication
