A permanent vacancy currently exists within Mid and East Antrim Borough Council for the following posts and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates:-
Governance & Democratic Services Manager
37 hours per week
Scale PO7, SCP 45-48 Currently £54,970.75 - £58,340.95
Location: The location of this post will be confirmed upon appointment and flexibility to be based across the Borough will be required.
Main Purpose of Job:
This role sits within the new Business Support division within the newly created Corporate & Support Services Directorate.
Reporting to the Legal & Democratic Services Manager you will be responsible for leading, co-ordinating and developing the Council’s Democratic Services function including Committee Administration, Members Services and ensuring the provision of a range of services to support Elected Members.
You will be responsible for ensuring all council and committee meetings are developed, set up and effective within the approach to good governance.
Lead and co-ordinate Elected Member training and development to build Elected Member capacity, supporting corporate objectives.
Manage and co-ordinate delivery of a local democracy programme and civic events that raise the profile of the Borough.

The shortlisting panel will base shortlisting decisions on the information contained within the Essential Criteria narrative sections of the application form. Part time hours/job share will be considered in line with operational requirements and accommodation will be dependent on the nature of the role.
