A permanent vacancy currently exists within Mid and East Antrim Borough Council for the following post and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates:-
Governance & Democratic Services Manager
Hours: 37 hours per week
Scale: P07 and in the range SCP 45 – 48 - £56,730 to £60,208
Location: The location of this post will be confirmed upon appointment and flexibility to be based across the Borough will be required.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This role sits within the new Business Support division within the newly created Corporate & Support Services Directorate.
Reporting to the Legal & Democratic Services Manager you will be responsible for leading, coordinating and developing the Council’s political governance and decision-making function, Democratic Services, which includes the management arrangements for Council and committees and ensuring the provision of a range of services to support Elected Members.
You will be responsible for ensuring all Council and committee meetings are timetabled, with all arrangements in place in accordance with the council’s approved approach to good governance.
Lead and co-ordinate Elected Member training and development to build Elected Member capacity, supporting corporate objectives.
Manage and co-ordinate delivery of a local democracy programme and civic events that raise the profile of the Borough.
