Grade VII M365 Administrator
Purpose of Role
The role will be working as part of the Cloud team in supporting Tusla’s Microsoft M365 environment with over 6,000 users. The role will include Infrastructure Management and Administration of Microsoft Exchange, Entra, Intune and Teams.
Reporting RelationshipThe successful applicant will report to the ICT Cloud Manager or other relevant manager.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesMonitoring and managing security across the M365 tenants including Microsoft identities, data, devices, apps, and infrastructure
Administrating access control policies and Privileged Access Management
Develop group policy and scripts to automate provisioning and permissions for end users
Administrating Microsoft Intune for mobile device management
Utilize a proactive, preventative maintenance and support approach including monitoring and health checks to minimize business disruptions
Assist in planning the M365 vision and roadmap for the Agency
Provide tier 3 support for Exchange, Entra, Intune, SharePoint, Teams and any other M365 environment issues escalated from other Tusla ICT Teams
Contribute to and maintain best practices to ensure successful deployments and high productivity
Contribute to technical design sessions and prepare documentation for architectural review
Other ICT duties as required
Work as part of the Cloud team in developing and maintaining a technical environment that is secure, highly available and fit for use
Work in collaboration with the other ICT Teams as required to support related tier 3 and 4 support, incident management and problem management issues
Work with external vendors and other ICT staff in delivering Cloud infrastructure-related initiatives
If applicable, to train, supervise and evaluate staff in their respective roles on the infrastructure team
If applicable, ensuring that the appropriate performance management frameworks are implemented for any assigned staff
Comply with and contribute to the development of policies, procedures, guidelines and safe professional practice and adhere to relevant legislation, regulations and standards
Have a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards as they apply to the service, for example National Standards for Child Protection and Care, and comply with associated Tusla – Child and Family Agency protocols
Support, promote and actively participate in sustainable energy, water and waste initiatives to create a more sustainable, low-carbon and efficient health service

Eligibility CriteriaQualifications and/or ExperienceApplicants must, by the closing date of application, have the following:
A third-level qualification in ICT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in ICT administration of the M365 environment
Excellent technical skills and experience in M365, Entra, Exchange, Intune, SharePoint and Teams administration
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure administration
Demonstrated knowledge of PowerShell scripting
The requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

TenureThe current vacancy is permanent/temporary and whole-time/part-time.
The post is pensionable.
A panel may be created from which future vacancies will be filled.

Salary Scale (as of 01/03/2025): €59,419 – €60,870 – €62,566 – €64,268 – €65,976 – €67,501 – €69,054 – €70,566 – €72,067 – €74,650 – €77,243 (LSI)
Entry will be at the minimum point of the scale.
Incremental credit may be granted for relevant experience (see Appendix 5).
Terms may vary for current public servants.
Standard working week: 35 hours
Annual Leave30 days per annum (whole-time equivalent)
SuperannuationThis is a pensionable position. The successful candidate will be enrolled in the appropriate scheme.
Details will be outlined in the contract of employment.
A probationary period of 39 weeks (or proportional for fixed-term contracts) will apply.
May be extended by a further 9 weeks if necessary.
If the candidate has previously completed probation in Tusla/HSE/Local Authority, and there is no break in service, probation may not apply.
