About us

Hello, We’re Brightflag - one of the fastest-growing tech startups in the legal world. We've recently announced the completion of a $28 million growth equity investment to continue our mission to transform legal operations. We believe the key to success is the partnership between technology and people. Our AI software combined with a best-in-class Customer Success team empowers corporate legal teams to do better, no matter the starting point.

Our SaaS platform was the first to apply artificial intelligence and machine learning to legal operations management and has invested more than 100,000+ hours in its development. Using Brightflag, corporate legal teams achieve visibility into their operations, streamline internal workflows, and engage with outside counsel more efficiently. Brightflag serves a global community of corporate legal teams and their outside counsel from offices in New York, Dublin, and Sydney. You can learn more about Brightflag here

What You’ll be helping us Achieve:

  • This is a very important role in our team with two key success outcomes.
  • Firstly, you will be helping to improve our AI accuracy, which helps our clients have complete visibility of their legal spend.
  • Secondly, you’ll capture and flag breaches of legal billing guidelines, which allows our clients (In-house legal teams from across the Globe) to generate significant cost savings on their legal spend, using our legal spend management platform.

What will you be doing:

  • The data you’ll work with mostly consists of Legal Invoices (Submitted by legal vendors that our clients work with).
  • You’ll be working on both our internal application (where our AI technology categorizes and classifies legal data from these Invoices), and on our external spend management platform (which our clients and their legal vendors use).

Firstly, you’ll play a key role in improving the accuracy of our AI.

  • No two legal Invoices are the same. Individual client data varies depending on our clients' spend management agreements, or locations (EMEA, USA, Australia) or billing guidelines, number of vendors etc. As such, there are different levels of complexity to each.
  • Your job is to spot any AI classification errors and correct them.
  • You’ll apply your attention to detail & analytical skills to review a high volume of legal invoices that our AI has categorized.
  • You’ll ensure errors or misclassifications are amended & updated and invoice data is correct, before it reaches our clients.
  • With a great training program and supportive team, you’ll gain great insights into the legal world and legal technology.

Secondly, you’ll help our clients identify and generate significant cost savings.

  • Our clients (In-House Legal teams) have billing guidelines agreed with each of their legal vendors. These vary by vendor, location, work being done etc.
  • You’ll be analyzing these billing guidelines, and creating automated flags, to implement these.
  • Next, you’ll upload these flags to our spend management platform. This allows clients that use our platform to be automatically notified of any billing breaches when reviewing their legal invoices. They’ll use this data to drive significant cost savings and identify inefficiencies in their legal spend.

To be successful in the role you'll have;

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Law/ Recent Law Graduate - Essential.
