Role overview
We have an excellent opportunity for a Graduate to join our experienced commercial team. Working closely with project teams, you will play a key role in planning and forecasting costs in our projects, negotiating contracts and terms, and developing excellent stakeholder relationships. You will gain hands on experience in the commercial side of Civil Engineering / Airfield projects, building on and developing your previous work experience and academic achievements.

What you'll do
Some of your main tasks will include;
- Assist the project and wider team with all commercial aspects from project conception to close.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Visit customer, client, and supplier sites and offices to participate in meetings and pricing.
- Prepare commercial reports, budgets, and forecasts, offering analysis of the information.
- Monitor and provide regular updates on project budgets, flagging any risks to the project team.
- Assist with developing and negotiating terms and commercial contracts.
- Support the procurement process, including preparing tender documentation and evaluating supplier bids.
- Track and manage project variations, ensuring accurate valuation and timely submission.
- Assist in the preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts.
- Contribute to risk management processes by identifying and mitigating commercial risks.
- Collaborate with site teams to ensure accurate cost capture and reporting.
- Maintain and update cost databases raising purchase orders and receipting goods delivered
- Assessing payment certificates from the supply chain / subcontractors and arranging timely payment
- Participate in internal audits and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, it is essential to have;
- Degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management other relevant area
- Minimum of 40 weeks work experience within
- Full driving license, permitting driving within the UK/Ireland
- Flexibility to travel to sites
- IT Literacy
- CSR, CSCS or Safe Pass card/certificate
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as COINS
