- Based in Harold’s Cross
The Grounds Manager will be responsible for the management and Development of all garden areas at Harold’s Cross, Blackrock and Wicklow. The gardens are an integral part of the service we provide for our patient’s visitors and staff. The post holder will manage all the daily operations associated with the position for the provision of managing and maintaining the exemplary gardens we have at Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications:
- Hold a recognised degree (Level 7) Bachelor of Science in Horticulture.
- Have completed or willingness to complete a relevant Management Course of Level 6 or 7 on the QQI National Framework
- A full, clean and current driving license
- Proficient IT skills
Experience:
- Have at least three -years relevant experience as a Grounds manager or in an assistant management role.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment
- Have a thorough knowledge of Landscape/Amenity horticulture:
- Landscape maintenance
- Garden design
- Plant production
- Ground maintenance
- Project management
- Managing contracts
- Supervising staff
- Mentoring employees
- Promoting sustainable horticultural practices
- Working with hand tools, power tools & machinery
- Proven high quality of service while dealing with staff and the general public
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable Requirements
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Environmental management of green spaces and a good awareness of sustainability and Biodiversity enhancementQQI LEVEL 5 handheld pesticide application
- QQI LEVEL 5 handheld pesticide application
Experience:
- Horticultural Therapy experience
- Experience in designing gardens in a healthcare environment
