Key Responsibilities
Compliance Strategy & Governance
- Define, implement and maintain a Group‑wide compliance strategy covering regulatory, product, supply chain, export and ethical compliance.
- Establish and maintain compliance policies, procedures and governance frameworks across all Group entities.
- Monitor changes in regulatory and customer requirements (e.g. ISO standards, export controls, chemical regulations) and ensure timely implementation.
- Provide regular compliance reports and recommendations to senior management..
- Support with compliance of relevant standards, including (but not limited to):
- ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, UKCA / CE marking requirements, REACH and related chemical regulations.
- Supporting in the preparation, participation in and close‑out of audits from a compliance perspective.
- Act as one of the primary contacts with certification bodies, regulators and external auditors.
- Support industry improvement frameworks such as SC21 and Aero Excellence.
- Provide senior oversight of product compliance activities, including declarations of conformity, technical files and regulatory evidence.
- Ensure effective supplier and supply chain compliance frameworks are in place, including risk assessment, certification and monitoring.
- Work with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to embed compliance requirements into supplier selection, onboarding and performance management.
- Provide oversight of export control, sanctions, end‑use and tariff compliance across the Group.
- Ensure appropriate processes, controls andords are maintained for international trade and customs requirements.
- Support investigation and resolution of export or trade compliance issues.
- Oversee the internal audit programme and ensure findings are risk‑assessed, prioritised and closed effectively.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Use audit data and trends to drive continuous improvement in compliance.
- Define and oversee compliance training and awareness frameworks.
- Support delivery of training and guidance across the business.
- Act as a trusted advisor on compliance‑related matters.
- Minimum 5years experience in a compliance, quality or regulatory role within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of ISO 9001 and at least one of AS9100 or ISO 13485.
- Proven experience managing or conducting audits and regulatory interactions.
- Understanding of product compliance (UKCA / CE) and supply chain compliance principles.
- Experience working cross‑functionally with Quality, Procurement, Engineering and Operations
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to balance compliance risk and commercial priorities.
- Strong analytical, reporting and MS Office skills.
- Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of REACH / UK REACH, export controls and international trade compliance.
- Experience supporting SC21, Aero Excellence or similar frameworks.
- Exposure to multi‑site or group‑level compliance governance.
- Background in polymers, injection moulding or complex manufacturing environments.
- Degree in Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
- Professional certification in quality, compliance or audit disciplines desirable.
