Location: Denman International Ltd, Bangor (full time office-based role)
Reporting to: Group Financial Controller
Contracted hours: 35 hours per week
Working hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm, Friday 8:30am-1:30pm, with a flexi-time policy in place

The Denroy Group was established in 1972 with headquarters in Bangor, Co Down where over 230 staff are situated over two sites alongside a sales office in Boston USA. The Group operates across several sectors.
Denman is a global leader in haircare manufacturing and distribution, specialising in hairbrushes and styling tools. For over 85 years we have helped stylists, barbers, and consumers to create styles that have transformed the industry. Denroy is an engineering, design and contract plastic injection moulding services provider, with over 50 years of experience and expertise. As well as manufacturing the Denman hairbrush range for the Group, Denroy also services the aerospace, automotive and medical sectors.

Overview
As part of the finance team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the production of accurate financial information, supporting month-end and year-end processes, statutory reporting, and business decision-making. This role is ideal for a recently qualified accountant seeking to develop commercial and technical accounting experience within an industry environment.

Key Responsibilities
Include but not limited to -
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities
  • Assist with the preparation for audits and liaise with auditors as required
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance department
  • Provide financial support and advice to other departments within the business
  • Assist with grant funding applications
  • Ensure compliance with US sales tax regulations
  • Ensure compliance with EU VAT regulations
  • Assist with HMRC audits
  • Prepare financial data for US statutory filings
  • Develop and maintain interdepartmental relationships

  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal
  • Strong IT capability, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines

Essential Criteria
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (final stage studiers may be considered)
  • Recently trained in practice or industry
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and internal controls
  • Experience of month-end processes and reconciliations
  • Strong analytical, reporting and Microsoft Office skills

Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of ERP systems
  • Knowledge of US business
  • Team management experience
