Group HRIS Manager

Role Introduction:

Established in 1992, Applegreen is a leading convenience roadside retailer in Ireland, the UK, and the US, operating over 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally. With over €3BN in annual revenue and in excess of 17,000 employees groupwide, Applegreen is in a rapid growth phase.

To support our ambitious plans, we are seeking to onboard a Group HRIS Manager who will lead the implementation, optimisation, and governance of our HR systems. This role sits within the Group HR team and reports to the Group Head of People. It is a pivotal opportunity for a tech-savvy HR professional to shape the digital backbone of our people strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

As Applegreen expands, the responsibilities will evolve and change over time. The core responsibilities will centre around the following areas:

HRIS Strategy

  • Lead the ongoing optimisation of the HRIS (SAP SuccessFactors) across Ireland and support the implementation of the HRIS in the US. Following US rollout, run an ongoing operating rhythm with the US HRIS Manager
  • Act as the primary business owner and liaison between HR, IT, and external vendors.
  • Liaise with the regions to develop and maintain system governance, ensuring data security, compliance, and scalability.

Process Design & Optimisation

  • Influence and support the redesign of HR processes to align with system capabilities and business needs.
  • Drive automation and digitalisation of HR workflows to improve efficiency and user experience.

Data Management & Analytics

  • Oversee data integrity, migration, and maintenance across all HR systems.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with HR to translate data insights into strategic actions.

System Training & Change Enablement

  • Design and deliver training programs for HRIS users across the business.
  • Champion system adoption and change management initiatives to embed digital HR practices.

Project Management

  • Manage HRIS-related projects, including upgrades, integrations, and new module rollouts.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • 5 years of experience in HRIS or HR Technology roles, ideally within a fast-paced, multi-site organisation.
  • Demonstrable HR transformation delivery (e.g. process redesign, operating model shifts, data governance) with tangible outcomes.
  • Proven experience managing HR systems (SAP SuccessFactors preferred).
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, data structures, and reporting frameworks.
  • Experience building HR dashboards a distinct advantage, with a strong understanding of reporting capabilities in systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
  • Practical project/change delivery: planning, testing, go-live, hypercare.
  • Relevant degree in HR, Business, IT, or related field.
  • CIPD qualification and/or membership is a strong advantage.

  • Willingness to travel ad hoc if required.
