Group Technical Accountant

About The Role

We are looking for a Group Technical Accountant to join our team! This role will work as part of the Group Financial Reporting Team and is responsible for the accurate and timely production of consolidated financial information for the Group, ensuring consistency of reporting across all regions.

Kerry operates a Hybrid working policy, candidates will be required to work from our offices in Naas or Tralee each week.

What will I be doing?

  • Prepare technical accounting papers for management and auditors on complex transactions.
  • Preparation of accounting technical reports for the Group’s audit committee.
  • Supporting the consolidation and external reporting requirements of the Group, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, company law and regulatory guidelines.
  • Liaise with the audit team and advisors on scope, deliverables, and timing.
  • Ensure compliance with internal review control for accounting transactions and perform the necessary procedures and documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures and systems for relevant accounting and reporting.
  • Identify process improvements and assist in the implementation of related processes and controls.
  • Provide high quality and practical training and education for finance and non-finance colleagues.

What do I need to be successful?

  • The ideal candidate will be an experienced qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with proven ability to analyse complex financial information and translate it into meaningful insights with strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering improvements.
  • Audit and technical advisory training and industry exposure would be desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS accounting, including demonstrable experience of resolving technically complex accounting issues. In particularly the successful candidate will need to be confident in applying IFRS 13, IAS 38, IFRS 3, IFRS 10, IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
  • Strong ability to evaluate technical issues, research and analyse facts, ability to influence and deal with senior individuals, consult and deliver solutions to clients.
  • Excellent communication skills written reports and presentations are essential.
  • Able to prioritise competing demands and willing to contribute to the delivery of objectives of the team.
  • Collaborative and proactive in building effective relationships.
  •  Advanced Excel skills.
