What is the Role:

The Analytics function within the Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence partners with teams across all areas of AIB Group to empower business leaders to make informed, data‑driven decisions. We provide an enterprise MI, BI and Reporting capability that ensures high‑quality insights are accessible at every level of the organisation.

We focus on creating meaningful value from AIB’s data, using a wide range of analytical tools and approaches to deliver measurable business impact. Our team works collaboratively with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders and is made up of people with a broad mix of skills and backgrounds

We are seeking an experienced and inclusive analytics leader to join AIB as Head of Business Intelligence, reporting to the Head of Analytics. In this senior leadership role, you will build strong, trust‑based relationships with key stakeholders, provide thought leadership in analytics, and ensure the timely delivery of high‑quality analytics outputs. You will champion a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and innovation, while supporting a positive, empowering environment where people can do their best work.

Key Accountabilities:

As part of the management team in Analytics, you will:

  • Build strong, trust‑based relationships with business partners and key stakeholders across AIB Group to support the delivery of outcomes aligned to AIB’s strategy
  • Collaborate closely with senior technology leaders across AIB to achieve meaningful, customer‑focused outcomes.
  • Provide clear, accessible subject‑matter expertise to help colleagues make the most effective use of data in their roles.
  • Oversee the consistent and high‑quality delivery of analytics requests, enabling the production of ad‑hoc and regular reports, dashboards and data visualisations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead and support multiple Analytics delivery squads, offering coaching, guidance and a positive environment that enables teams to deliver effectively.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, where new ideas, creative problem‑solving and innovation are encouraged and supported.

What You Will Bring:

  • A strong track record in Data & Analytics leadership roles, with experience supporting, developing and motivating high‑performing teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence and collaborate effectively at senior levels
  • A solid understanding of data quality, data management and governance principles, particularly within complex or highly regulated environments
  • Well‑developed problem‑solving abilities and practical experience with SQL, Power BI and/or other BI tools
  • A proactive, accountable approach to work, with the ability to operate independently when needed and maintain a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail
