Head of Finance

Senior Leadership Team | General Manager Grade (DOH 0041)

Hybrid Role - Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) | Clontarf, Dublin

Lead. Transform. Enable.

What if your next finance leadership role could do more than shape financial performance?

What if you could use your expertise to help transform an organisation that supports 4,000 people and families living with disabilities across Ireland?

The Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) is looking for an ambitious, commercially minded and values-led Head of Finance to join our Senior Leadership Team at a pivotal point in our development.

This is an opportunity to bring your financial leadership, strategic thinking and transformation experience into an organisation where the decisions you make have a tangible impact on people’s lives.

Why this role, why now?

CRC is in the middle of an ambitious transformation programme, Creating Pathways that Empower and Enable (2025–2030).

That means we are not simply looking for someone to manage the numbers.

We are looking for a finance leader who can help us build the organisation we need for the future.

You will play a central role in strengthening financial resilience, modernising systems, improving organisational insight and ensuring that resources are invested in the areas where they can have the greatest impact.

You will work alongside the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to turn strategy into action — bringing financial insight into organisational decisions, challenging constructively, identifying opportunities and helping leaders understand not just what the numbers say, but what they mean for the future of the organisation.

This is a role for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of finance, strategy, transformation, governance and organisational performance.

The Opportunity

As Head of Finance, you will provide strategic leadership across financial management and corporate services, ensuring CRC has the financial capability, systems, governance and insight required to deliver its ambitions.

Your remit will include:

Strategic financial leadership

  • Shape and deliver financial strategy, strengthen financial resilience and provide the insight required to support sustainable organisational growth and investment.

Business partnering and decision support

  • Work closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and operational leaders, translating financial information into clear commercial and strategic insight that supports better decision-making.

Transformation and modernisation

  • Lead improvements to financial systems, processes, reporting and organisational capability, helping CRC become more data-informed, efficient and future-ready.

Governance and stewardship

  • Ensure strong financial controls, governance, risk management and accountability across the organisation.

Organisational performance

  • Develop stronger financial reporting and performance insight, enabling leaders to understand performance, identify opportunities and take action.

Leadership and capability

  • Build a high-performing finance function and develop the capability, confidence and effectiveness of your team and wider organisation.

Most importantly, you will help ensure that finance and corporate services are an enabler of great services — not simply a control function.

What we are looking for:

We want to meet experienced Finance Managers from a range of sectors not just from the public sector; You may come from the private sector, financial services, healthcare, professional services, not-for-profit, public sector or another complex organisation.

We are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:

  • Strong senior-level financial leadership and technical expertise
  • Experience partnering with CEOs, executive teams and senior stakeholders
  • The ability to connect financial strategy with wider organisational strategy
  • Experience leading transformation, systems improvement or organisational change
  • Strong commercial and analytical thinking
  • Excellent governance, risk and control capability
  • The confidence to challenge, influence and provide constructive advice
  • Experience building high-performing teams and organisational capability
  • The judgement and integrity to operate effectively in a complex environment

You don't need to have worked in the public or voluntary sector before.

What matters is your ability to take your experience, perspective and leadership into a new environment and use it to make a difference.

More than a finance role

This is an opportunity to broaden the impact of your career.

At CRC, the quality of our financial and corporate decision-making directly influences our ability to provide and develop services for children, adults and families across Ireland.

You will therefore need to be comfortable balancing financial sustainability with purpose.

You will bring rigour without losing sight of people.

You will challenge without losing collaboration.

And you will make difficult decisions while keeping the organisation’s purpose firmly at the centre.

Our Values:

Person-Centredness, Quality, Respect, Stewardship, Courage and Collaboration — are not simply words on a page. They describe how we expect our leaders to operate.

A seat at the table

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will have the opportunity to influence decisions well beyond finance.

You will work with colleagues across the organisation to:

  • Shape strategic priorities
  • Strengthen organisational resilience
  • Improve how resources are planned and deployed
  • Modernise systems and ways of working
  • Strengthen governance and accountability
  • Build organisational capability
  • Support sustainable growth and service development
  • Ensure investment decisions are grounded in evidence and impact

This is a chance to bring a commercially rigorous, strategically minded approach to an organisation with an exceptionally strong sense of purpose.

The impact you could make:

Every financial decision at CRC has a wider story behind it.

It can influence whether a service can grow.

Whether a team has the resources it needs.

Whether systems work effectively.

Whether leaders have the information to make the right decisions.

And ultimately, whether we can continue to deliver better services and outcomes for the people and families we support.

That is why this role matters.

If you're looking for your next finance leadership role to have real purpose, we'd like to hear from you.

Join us and help build the financial and organisational foundations for CRC's next chapter.
