Purpose of the Post

The primary purpose of the Head of Human Resources role is to lead the Human Resources function in the Region and designated IHA area(s). He/she will have a clear focus on ensuring the highest calibre of staff with the appropriate skill mix in a culture that values, empowers and develops our people.

The post holder will actively contribute to the delivery of patient / client centred services. The post holder is responsible for the delivery and implementation of a range of generalist HR services within their assigned remit and the provision of advice and guidance on HR issues in order to support the IHA manager(s) and RDOP in the achievement of its business objectives.

Working with the HR Senior Management Team the post holder will provide guidance on the broad HSE HR policy direction and governance on people related matters; to influence, monitor and support the changing structure and workforce with a focus on change management, leadership and development support. Provide HR support and guidance to the IHA manager(s) and their teams in the delivery of the organisational strategy in line with Slaintecare and the new Health Regions structure.
