Role: Head of Learning and Development

Location: The successful candidate will have the choice of working in Monasterevin, Co. Kildare or Tullamore, Co. Offaly (Hybrid working available)

Tenure: Permanent (Full-time)

The Head of Learning and Development is responsible for the oversight and delivery of Learning and Development for all staff in the Muiríosa Foundation. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and Employee Experience, they are responsible for formulation of Learning and Development Strategy for the Muiríosa Foundation, and lead on the implementation of the strategy. Learning and development planning for the organisation, to promote the importance of learning and development, whether through further education, courses or seminars/webinars.

The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

· Relevant, recognised Third Level Qualification in a relevant discipline.

· Membership of a professional body such as the Learning and Development Institute or Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development or Learning and Development Institute desirable.

· Additional ongoing training / updates relevant to the role.

· Experience of a Leadership role with similar responsibilities including experience of leadership, direction, and teamwork relevant to a Learning and Development role.

· Previous experience of provision of working in an organisation providing support to individuals with intellectual disability and/or autism desirable.

· Experience managing multiple competing priorities and projects as well as coaching and managing the learning and development team.

· Experience with management of delivery of QQI courses and maintains links with education bodies.

· ICT systems in the field of Learning and Development, especially learning management systems and E-learning tools.

· Ability to evaluate complex information from a variety of sources to enable you to make and communicate effective decisions.

· Experience of managing and working collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders to optimise the provision of learning and development to staff.

· Excellent knowledge in creating and developing training programmes to a QQI/Further Education standard.

· Strong knowledge of programme management tools, learning management systems and design tools.

· Experience of Learning and Development in a similar environment.

· Proven ability to lead in the area of Learning and Development and to achieve desired outcomes.

· Excellent communication, leadership, training and presentation skills.

· Strong ethos in line with the core values of the Muiríosa Foundation.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal.

· Effective leader in a busy and challenging environment.

· Builds positive working relationships within the Learning and Development section and with all stakeholders.

· Strong organisational, accuracy skills and ability to prioritise tasks/objectives.

· Extremely comfortable using all ICT systems.

· Constantly seeks improvements in work role – systems, processes.

· Appetite to undertake education & training as may be required in the role.

· Will be required to visit workplaces across the Organisation and must use own transport for same.

· Flexibility & adaptability in a changing environment required in the role.
