Job Summary and Purpose:
To ensure that the performance of NI Hospice is effectively measured across a critical set of performance measures relating to care, education, income and corporate services and that the organisation operates within a robust and quality risk and governance framework. To utilise the performance framework to support with strategic direction for the organisation in conjunction with the Hospice Leadership team and Board of Trustees.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role supports the delivery of NI Hospice’s strategy and ensures that we can demonstrate organisational excellence. The post holder uses performance data to inform strategic decisions, working closely with the executive team and board of trustees. The post holder will ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and contracts, including health and safety, and oversee accurate, timely reporting to statutory bodies such as RQIA, ICO, Charities Commission, fundraising regulator etc.
The post holder will develop strategic KPIs aligned with organisational goals, in collaboration with the Hospice Leadership Team, and ensure accurate performance data is regularly produced. The post holder will also modernise and maintain governance, risk, and performance systems, including implementing technology to monitor key indicators, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance and best practice.
The role is responsible for reporting on risk and performance, escalating matters of concern to senior management and supporting solutions to address areas for improvement.
