With major investment programmes in the maintenance, renewal and upgrading of our infrastructure, this is an exciting opportunity for Senior Engineers looking to progress a career in the railway industry to help in the safe and efficient provision of railway service across the country.

The Head of Programme & Projects IM, reporting to the Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating the IM Projects Programme in accordance with organisational requirements and overall business goals. The successful candidate will become part of the Infrastructure Management team that will help in the delivery of key objectives for the department by undertaking and leading in major renewal and upgrade projects for our wide range of infrastructural assets including the €250 million Cork Line Rehabilitation Project and the €180 million Coastal Infrastructure Protection Programme.
A key aspect of this role will be the management of interfaces with our Capital Investment project teams to help deliver and support the Capital Investment Programme, the largest such programme in our history circa €2.5 billion, which includes the DART+ Programme and the National Traffic Control Centre (NTCC).
- Hold a third level qualification in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- Have a proven track record in the development and delivery of railway projects with particular focus on multidisciplinary Permanent Way and Signalling Projects delivery, with a minimum of 15 years’ experience
- Have a proven track record of building project specific delivery teams and organisation structures with a focus on delivery of railway infrastructure projects to time and budget
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
