There is currently 2 permanent and whole-time vacancies available as the Head of Service in the Quality and Patient Safety function, in the Integrated Healthcare Areas (IHA) of:

· 1 WTE in Dublin South and Wicklow Integrated Healthcare Area

· 1 WTE in Waterford and Wexford Integrated Healthcare Area

The post holder will be assigned to the lead service role in the location(s) listed below.

Dublin South and Wicklow Integrated Healthcare Area: Initially the location is Block B, Civic Centre, Main Street, Bray, Co. Wicklow, A98 X329. This location is subject to change of location to Dublin and South East Regional Offices, Iveagh Building, Carrickmines Park, Carrickmines, Dublin 18, D18X015.

Waterford and Wexford Integrated Healthcare Area: Initially the location is Enniscorthy, Primary Care Centre, Quarry Road, Enniscorthy, Wexford, Y21 T8 W7. This location is subject to change as the Regional and IHA governance structures develop.

Post holders for both areas will be required to attend the Dublin and South East Regional Offices, Iveagh Building, Carrickmines Park, Carrickmines, Dublin 18, D18X015 and services within the IHA and Region as required.

Purpose of the post:

The post holder:

· Is required to inform the development of the Regional Quality and Patient Safety Strategy and manage its implementation across their assigned area of responsibility, which is informed by the HSE Quality and Safety Priorities and Strategies, the HSE National Service Plan, the National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare and other relevant strategies and standards.

· In line with Regional and National requirements the post holder will ensure that appropriate governance structures are in place to manage, monitor and report on the performance of quality and safety of services across their area of responsibility.

· Will actively contribute to the delivery of safe, quality driven patient/client centered services and will support and contribute to the development of clinical governance structures to manage and monitor quality and patient safety across Networks and systems of Care as they develop within their area of responsibility and cross regional.

· The post holder will play a key role in supporting and directing the IHA towards the achievement of service objectives in line with Regional and National objectives.

· Will implement quality, safety and service improvement strategies in planning, implementation and performance of all IHA services in a standardised manner.

· Will be required to support, develop and implement structures, systems and processes across the IHA to support the quality and safety agenda and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.

· Will be required to support and promote professional development of staff appropriate to the requirements of an effective QPS Function throughout the Region to ensure that we achieve the highest quality of service delivery.

· As relevant to the role and function the Post Holder will part take and drive the IHA’s Performance as relevant to the Regional Performance Programme.
