Head Receptionist - Marine Hotel, Sutton

The Marine Hotel is currently recruiting for an experienced and highly motivated Head Receptionist to lead our Front Office team (Reception and Nights). Previous Hotel Reception experience is required for this role.

The main duties of this role include:

  • To greet guests in a warm, friendly manner.
  • To check in and out guests efficiently, following correct company procedures.
  • Answer telephone in a friendly, professional manner, transferring calls to correct extensions and dealing with requests as required.
  • To record reservations accurately, noting any special requests.
  • To promote and sell the Hotel's facilities including Schooner Bar & Lounge.
  • To ensure billing is correctly and efficiently completed to the agreed standards.
  • To deal with any guest complaints, queries and resolve to a satisfactory standard at first instance.
  • To handle all departmental floats and safe deposits, maintaining high levels of security.
  • Update and balance bars, telephones, restaurant and reception cash at the end of each shift and make lodgments
  • To adhere to all Company policies including Customer Care, Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Cash Handling

Ideally...

  • Candidates shall ideally have at least 1 year previous experience leading a front office team and will always strive to provide our guests with the highest standards in customer care.
  • Experience using Opera and excellent communication and interpersonal skills would be a distinct advantage.

Please note that this position involves weekend work. The hours of work for this role will involve early shifts (7am – 3.15pm) and late shifts (2.45pm – 11pm) 5 days per week. The roster week is Monday to Sunday.
