Health and Safety Administrator
As a H&S administrator, you will use your knowledge and skills to support and promote a positive H&S culture and provide H&S support on our sites throughout the UK and Ireland. You will ensure company employees and subcontractor workers fully comply with all relevant H&S legislation, company H&S policy and ensure industry good practices are adopted and adhered to.
What you'll do Your role will invovle:
- Maintain and update H&S records, including training records, incident reports, and risk assessments.
- Prepare and distribute H&S reports, policies, and procedures.
- Manage and coordinate H&S systems.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, dealing with correspondence related to H&S.
- Maintain an effective filing system and ensure the security and confidentiality of information.
- Support incident investigations and preventive actions.
- Support health & safety programs, including training and competency frameworks.
- Participate in wider Group Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives.
- Act as the first point of contact for H&S inquiries, both internally and externally.
- Communicate effectively with staff, managers, and other departments regarding H&S matters.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance
- Make contact with contractors for up to date information
- Analyze existing H&S data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collate safety observations and near miss reports
- Track and monitor performance against H&S targets and metrics.
- Assist with the preparation of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Support the delivery of H&S training programs.
- Assist with the development and implementation of H&S policies and procedures.
- Maintain and distribute toolbox talks and safety alerts.
What you'll bring
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrable experience working in the Construction Industry.
- Full Driving License.
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of H&S legislation, risk assessment, and safety culture development.
- Proficiency in IT systems.
- Flexibility for UK & ROI travel.
Desirable Criteria:
- The National General Certificate in Occupational H&S - delivered by NEBOSH
- Membership of appropriate accredited industry body -eg: IOSH (Technical or Grad IOSH).
- The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and as an individual.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, 9001, 14001
