At Sisk our Health & Safey Advisor provides support to project teams in the implementation of health and safety standards working closely with our onsite project teams under supervision of the Health & Safety Manager. As Health & Safety Advisor you will gain practical experience in construction Health & Safety systems and be a key member of our evolving team who are constantly upskilling and training to ensure optimal safety onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of Health & Safety systems and procedures on allocated projects.
  • Support site inspections, audits and reviews to monitor compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of risk assessments, method statements, environmental plans and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Observe and report on incidents and near misses, supporting investigations and follow-up actions.
  • Assist in delivering Health & Safety briefings, toolbox talks and training under supervision.
  • Support data collection, reporting and monitoring of Health & Safety performance.
  • Participate in project and functional Health & Safety meetings.
  • Maintain awareness of company Health & Safety policies, statutory requirements and standards.

Experience

  • Interest or initial experience in construction Health & Safety or related discipline
  • Willingness to learn and develop practical Health & Safety skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance from senior Health & Safety staff
  • Organised and able to manage workload in a structured manner
  • Enthusiasm for promoting a safe, sustainable and high-quality working environment

Qualifications

Required

  • Degree or qualification in Health & Safety Management or related discipline (or current enrolment)
  • Awareness of construction Health & Safety standards and statutory requirements
  • Full relevant driver’s licence

Desirable

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety rship
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 or other management systems
