Health Care Assistant (Wicklow)

• 0.71WTE (28 hours approx)
• Temporary Specified Purpose Contract
• H.S.E. funded
• Based in Wicklow hospice

The successful candidate will help to ensure that a caring, creative environment is achieved within the ward, paying attention to the highest possible quality of nursing care. The successful candidate will understand the Core Values of OLH&CS and the philosophy of care on the ward.

Essential Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• Successful completion of FETAC/ QQI Level 5 Major Award in one of the following:
• Health Service Skills
• Healthcare Support
• Nursing Studies

OR

• International healthcare qualifications should be equivalent to the FETAC/ QQI Level 5 Major Healthcare Award (as above). To confirm if your International healthcare qualification is equivalent, please refer to NARIC Ireland Foreign Qualifications: https://qsearch.qqi.ie/WebPart/Sear ch?searchtype=recognitions

Essential Experience:

• A minimum of 1 years’ experience employed as a Health Care Assistant preferably in a healthcare facility setting.

AND/OR

• Relevant QQI student work experience hours, equal to or greater than,120 hours undertaken in a clinical environment, e.g. hospital, hospice, nursing home.
