HX26-033: Health Care Assistant (Harold’s Cross & Blackrock hospice sites)
- 1.0WTE Full Time (39 hours)
- 0.5WTE Part Time (19.5 hours)
- Relief Panel (8-39 hours)
- Indefinite duration and temporary contracts
- H.S.E. funded & Board of Directors funded contracts
- Based in Harold’s Cross and Blackrock Hospice sites
The successful candidate will help to ensure that a caring, creative environment is achieved within the ward, paying attention to the highest possible quality of nursing care. The successful candidate will understand the Core Values of OLH&CS and the philosophy of care on the ward.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of FETAC/ QQI Level 5 Major Award in one of the following:
o Health Service Skills
o Healthcare Support
o Nursing Studies
OR
- International healthcare qualifications should be equivalent to the FETAC/ QQI Level 5 Major Healthcare Award (as above). To confirm if your International Healthcare qualification is equivalent, please refer to NARIC Ireland Foreign Qualifications: https://qsearch.qqi.ie/WebPart/Search?searchtype=recognitions
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience employed as a Health Care Assistant preferably in a healthcare facility setting.
AND /OR
- Relevant QQI student work experience hours, equal to or greater than,120 hours undertaken in a clinical environment, e.g. hospital, hospice, nursing home.
Desirable Requirements
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of QQI Level 5 component Certificate in Activities of Living Patient Care (5N3707)
OR
- QQI level 5 component Certificate in Nursing Theory & Practice (5N4325).
