We are seeking a dedicated Health & Social Care Assistant (Therapy Assistant) to join our Children's Disability Network Team (CDNT). This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals supporting children with disabilities and complex health needs to thrive at home, in school, and within their communities.
As a valued member of the team, you will work under the guidance of Health & Social Care Professionals including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech & Language Therapists, delivering therapeutic interventions and practical supports that positively impact children and their families
About the Service
Children's Disability Network Teams provide specialist services and supports to children with disabilities and complex health needs. Working collaboratively with children, families and carers, the team develops and delivers individualised support plans that promote participation, wellbeing and development
Our multidisciplinary teams include:
- Occupational Therapists
- Physiotherapists
- Speech & Language Therapists
- Psychologists
- Nurses
- Social Workers
- Administrative and Support Staff
Together, we deliver person-centred, family-focused care across home, school, clinic and community settings
The Role
As a Health & Social Care Assistant, you will provide delegated therapeutic and care support to children and young people under the supervision of qualified Health & Social Care Professionals. You will help deliver individual and group-based interventions while promoting independence, participation and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Deliver therapy programmes and interventions as directed by supervising clinicians.
- Support children in individual and group settings.
- Assist with functional activities and daily living tasks where required.
- Support home visits, assessments and follow-up programmes.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers and multidisciplinary team members.
- Observe, monitor and report progress and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical and administrative records.
- Assist in preparing therapy resources and materials.
- Support equipment management and treatment area maintenance.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, training and service development initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must possess one of the following:
- A relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification together with the appropriate Therapy Assistant modules; or
- A relevant healthcare qualification at QQI Level 5 or above and commit to completing the therapy assistant modules within 12 months of appointment; or
- At least one year's experience in a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant, Physiotherapy Assistant or similar healthcare support role together with a commitment to obtain the required QQI qualification within 12 months; or
An equivalent qualification obtained outside Ireland.

Additional Requirements
