Before 8am and after 8pm - from €20.67to €22.98 per hour

Sunday - from €24.81 to €27.58 per hour

Required Availability:

Availability across weekdays and every second weekend is required for the Assisted Living element of the role.

Candidates must also be available every Tuesday from 3:00pm–8:00pm to support our Youth Service.

Overall, Purpose of Job

The purpose of the role is to enable our members to achieve maximum independence in all aspects of daily living by assisting in one or more of the following areas: personal care, domestic assistance, social and educational assistance, travel and companionship.

The Assisted Living element of the role takes place in the homes and communities of our members.

The successful candidate will also support young adults attending our Youth Service in the community centre. This provides an opportunity to work across two areas of IWA services and support young people to participate fully in social, recreational and community-based activities.

Youth Service Responsibilities

As part of the Youth Service element of the role, duties will include:

Assisting young adults in all aspects of personal care and daily living, as identified by each individual

Accompanying and supporting young adults on outings, individual programmes, social trips and holidays as required

Assisting with safe transportation in line with the requirements of the Transport Handbook guidelines

Supporting young adults to participate in social, recreational and community-based activities

Promoting independence, choice and inclusion in all aspects of the service

Liaison

There are several key relationships, which should be fostered and developed for the successful implementation of this role. Liaise and coordinate with other identified home support staff as required and maintain close communication with the Assisted Living Service Coordinator and Scheduling staff.

Training and Qualifications:

What we Require:

QQI level 5 (Major Award) in Homecare Support or similar qualification in Social Care is essential.

QQI Major Awards that are deemed relevant to IWA are:

Community & Health Services (to include minor components Safety & Health at Work and Care Provision & Practice)

Health Service Skills (to include minor components in Workplace Statutory Policies & Procedures and Care Skills and Care Support)

Health Care Support (to include minor components Safety & Health at Work and Care Skills and Care Support)

Full clean drivers' licence is essential

Kind and Caring attitude
