What the job and learning is really about: - Picking up new skills: You’ll be learning hands-on stuff all the time, building up your knowledge and skill. - Learning from the mentor: Working alongside experienced mentor and picking up tool and tricks of the trade. - Staying safe: Health and safety rules matter — they keep you and everyone else protected. - Getting stuck in: You’ll be working with vehicles, tools, and equipment, and moving around a lot. - Owning your work: The quality of what you do is on you, so you take pride in it. - Using the gear: Special service tools, materials, and equipment become part of your daily routine. - Figuring things out: Reading diagrams, following instructions, and solving problems when systems break. - Hands-on fixes: Taking apart mechanical systems, checking them, and putting them back together. - Testing tech: Making sure electrical and electronic systems are working properly. - Keeping records: Writing down what you did so others can understand the work. - Managing your learning: Setting aside time to study and practice. - Passing exams: Theory, practicals, and skill demos — all part of the journey. - Earning while learning: You’re paid as you train, which is a nice bonus.
