The Hedge Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the Bank’s hedge accounting framework within Group Finance, ensuring robust application, governance and ongoing compliance with IFRS hedge accounting requirements. The role acts as the Bank’s subject‑matter expert on derivatives and hedge accounting, providing authoritative technical advice to Treasury, ALM and Finance stakeholders, while ensuring accurate recognition, measurement and disclosure in statutory, regulatory and management reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation and ongoing operation of the Bank’s hedge accounting framework, including oversight of monthly hedge accounting processes.
  • Own hedge accounting documentation, hedge designations, risk management objectives and effectiveness methodologies.
  • Ensure robust internal controls are designed and operating effectively over hedge accounting processes, including documentation, valuation inputs, journals and disclosures, ensuring that the Group Internal Control requirements are met.
  • Lead engagement with External Audit and Internal Audit on hedge accounting matters, ensuring timely resolution of audit queries, findings and remediation actions.
  • Lead, coach and develop team members involved in hedge accounting activities, building depth of expertise and resilience within the wider External Reporting team.
  • Build strong working relationships across Finance, Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, Risk and senior management to ensure hedge accounting considerations are appropriately reflected in decision‑making and planning.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA); with relevant post‑qualification experience.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS, with demonstrable experience in hedge accounting and derivatives.
  • Solid understanding of best practice financial processes/systems and proven track record to lead the development of same;
  • Self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and an ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines;
  • Team focused displaying ability to work with others within and outside the team and a willingness to be flexible to assist in achieving the overall goals of the team;
  • Strong focus on attention to detail;

This is a Permanent position based in Dublin (Hybrid)
