Purpose and Function of Post

Develop, manage and deliver the department’s strategic plans focused on the development of built, cultural and natural heritage. This will involve management of projects, procurement, contracts and budgets.
Lead, develop and deliver key heritage projects on behalf of the department, from inception to completion, fostering positive economic, social and environmental benefits that champion Mid Ulster’s heritage sector.
Work to understand the needs of Council and the District to deliver a high performing, cost effective and robust heritage service that is responsive to local needs.
To build and develop strategic relationships with a wide range of stakeholders on a local, regional, national and cross-border basis, to ensure the long-term sustainability of Mid Ulster's heritage sector.

The Council may retain a list of reserve candidates arising from this recruitment campaign, for any vacancies which may arise which are the same or similar and are of an equal grade of pay. This list will be valid for 12 months. “Another similar vacancy” is defined as a post with a similar job description and person specification and on the same salary scale, which may be in a different department or duration to the vacancy initially advertised. Another similar vacancy does not include posts where the similarity relates solely to the salary scale.
