HGV Mechanic

Our Client now seeks an experienced HGV Mechanic to support its busy Transport Department. They are one of the largest manufacturers of chemicals, which are used to produce safe drinking water for Irish homes and businesses and to protect the environment by treating wastewater.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will work with the Senior Mechanic to complete all HGV motor mechanical activities for the company.

Role Responsibilities are detailed below:

• Preparation of vehicles for CVRT testing, and quarterly inspections.
• Provide training and advice to apprentices and co-workers as required
• Be capable of producing quality work in a busy fast-paced environment
• Work well under pressure while maintaining efficiency and productivity
• Have a flexible approach to work and be willing to work overtime if required
• Ordering of parts and consumables and ensuring stock levels of critical parts are maintained
• Complying with all relevant Health & Safety regulations

Experience and Knowledge:

• Qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic (QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent)
• Must have C1 Driving Licence
• Should have experience in all aspects of vehicle and trailer servicing and diagnostics
• At least 5 years of industry experience
• Desirable knowledge of CVRT requirements in HGV’s
