HGV Mechanic

The Shaw Commercials Group in Castlebar, Co Mayo currently have a vacancy for a HGV Mechanic.

Reporting to the workshop manager, the successful candidate will have excellent service, repair and maintenance skills on buses, HGV’s and LCV’s with a good knowledge of electric systems, a team-oriented attitude and pride in a job well done.

This is a busy work environment, working to daily and weekly deadlines and incorporating an ethos of quality assurance for our clients.

The Shaw Commercials Group is in operation for over 25 years and is the main Renault Truck Dealer for the West / North West region. The service offering includes vehicle sales, testing, maintenance and fleet management.

We are looking to hire a qualified HGV Mechanic to join our team in Castlebar.

The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of vehicle servicing & diagnostics.

Applicants will ideally:

• Be fully qualified as a HGV or Plant mechanic.
• Will have experience in all aspects of vehicle servicing and diagnostics.
• Work well under pressure, while maintaining efficiency and productivity.
• Hold a full drivers licence
• HGV drivers licence desirable but not essential
• Have a flexible approach to work and be willing to work overtime if required.
• Be computer literate.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• To service & repair vehicles.
• To make written and verbal reports on service and repair activity to workshop foreman.
• Preform work as outlined on the job card with efficiency and accuracy.
• Maintaining a clean and neat workspace and adhering to all company policies, procedures and safety standards.
