We are now recruiting a High Value Fundraising Lead
This is a wonderful and exciting opportunity to join one of the most important charities in Ireland in a period when the need for our services has never been greater. By participating, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to positively influence the lives of many older people in Ireland.
To review and refine our high value donor strategy to ensure effective implementation of same. The successful candidate will be tasked with building on recent work to successfully establish a Philanthropy & Funding Development programme and ensuring that it continues to meet the needs of the organisation.
You will report directly to the Fundraising Manager.
Responsibilities
- Reactivation and Recruitment of high value Major Donors, Corporate and Trust and Foundation donors to create a network of high value supporters
- Create and build strong relationships with high value donors
- Meet and exceed relevant KPIs based on contacts and funding goals.
- Regularly review, refine and report on ALONE’s high value funding development strategy to ensure it is delivering to plan, meeting the needs of the organisation and fully optimised.
- Work with a small fundraising team that is managing income across a network of donors including individual, corporate, legacy and T&F.
- Work with a cross-organisation team in the development and delivery of ALONE@50
- Work with Senior Management to help establish a portfolio of projects and programmes requiring funding. Develop suitable targets and applications relating to these projects and programmes to secure funding.
- Innovate, design and roll out new initiatives to optimise potential income towards capital projects and general fundraising.
- Report on all funding within the requirements set out by funding body.
- Manage income plans and expenditure budgets.
- Build and maintain effective internal relationships (particularly with Finance and Property teams) in support of implementation of strategy.
- Any other duties within the general requirements of the above that may be assigned.
Essential skills & experience
- The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Degree business, management, marketing or equivalent professional qualification.
- A self-starter with 3-5 years’ experience at senior level in a relevant role that includes relationship management and sales.
- Proven excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to build effective relationships.
- Proven ability to work successfully, effectively within a small, dynamic team.
- You will be a highly motivated, solutions-focused professional with a track record of shaping the narrative of an organisation.
- You will possess exceptional communications and interpersonal skills as well as strong technological capabilities.
- You will be able to work independently, taking a lead on key items of work using your own initiative.
- Commercial acumen and an ability to recognise opportunities are crucial to this role.

- Salary €50,000 per annum
- 35 Hour week (core hours 9-5) –Full-time employees can enjoy a 35-hour working week.
