Higher Diploma In Midwifery Commencing March

18 MONTH HIGHER DIPLOMA MIDWIFERY EDUCATION PROGRAMME

COMMENCING March 2027

This programme is available to General Nurses who are currently registered (or those eligible for registration) with The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), and want to become a midwife.

A minimum of six months recent nursing experience in an acute care setting is required at time of application. Admission to the programme is subject to interview and acceptance by University College Dublin, the Hospital's academic partner.

If successful, you will be paid a salary based on your incremental point for the duration of the course.

Upon successful completion, you will be awarded a HDip in Midwifery at Level 8 from UCD. You will also be eligible to register as a Midwife (RM) with the NMBI.
