Horticulture Apprentice

Overview:

Join our team at Duckett’s Grove House and Walled Gardens as a Horticulture Apprentice. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn and develop skills in a historic and beautiful setting.

Responsibilities:

Assisting with the cultivation and maintenance of plants, fruit, flowers, and trees within the Walled Gardens.

Learning about and participating in garden design, planting, and care under the guidance of experienced head gardener.

Participating in the upkeep of the grounds, including weeding, watering, and general grounds maintenance.

Engaging with visitors to provide information about the gardens and horticultural practices.

Qualifications:

A passion for horticulture and a desire to learn and develop skills in a hands-on environment.

Strong work ethic and willingness to take on a variety of tasks related to garden maintenance and care.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour when interacting with visitors.
