Hotel Receptionist
The Royal Marine Hotel is delighted to invite applications for the position of Full-Time Receptionist to join our Front Office team in our 228-bedroom, 4-star hotel.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional and guest-focused individual with a genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional service.
Job SummaryAs a Hotel Receptionist, you will play a key role in creating a warm, welcoming and seamless experience for our guests. Your responsibilities will include check-in and check-out procedures, handling inquiries, assisting with reservations and ensuring the highest standards of customer care. The ideal candidate will be friendly, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a warm, professional welcome to all guests throughout their stay.
- Manage check-in and check-out procedures efficiently using the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS).
- Handle guest inquiries in person, by phone and via email, ensuring prompt and helpful responses.
- Assist with reservations, amendments and cancellations.
- Process payments, pre-authorisations and billing queries accurately.
- Liaise with other departments, including housekeeping and maintenance, to support guest needs.
- Maintain strong knowledge of hotel services, current promotions and local attractions.
- Address and resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner, escalating when required.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies and health & safety standards.
- Keep the front desk area clean, organised, and presentable at all times.
This is a full-time position requiring flexibility, including evening, weekend, and public holiday shifts.
Ideal Candidate Requirements- Previous experience in hotel reception.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, approachable manner.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Keen attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- Experience with a PMS (preferably HOTSOFT) is an advantage, though training will be provided.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
